Knows/understands the functionality of electronical medical system/s and its relationship to clinical workflows.
Recommends record system changes (e.
g.
template changes, new provider templates, etc.
) to improve performance, workflow efficiencies, and/or to meet business requirements such as UDS, Meaningful Use, Health Plan related, Billing, etc.
Performs applicable record system changes once approved by the supervising department lead after ensuring applicable training/communication to impacted users takes place.
Recommends workflow and systems configuration changes to the Director of Business Systems based on observations from the floor and feedback from manager/s, supervisor/s, medical director/s.
Once systems/workflow changes are approved and verified to be in compliance with Network polices, the Health Informatics Specialist will make applicable setup/configuration changes to electronic systems.
Participates in system planning, implementation, upgrading, testing, maintenance and evaluation of clinical information systems.
Maintains systems for tracking required fixes, enhancements, testing, and project milestones.
Functions as lead to accomplish business system project goals.
Functions as a liaison between the Information Systems (IS) Department and other departments Under the supervision of the Director of Business Systems, is responsible for designing, planning, and coordinating work teams.
Provides technical support and direction to project team members.
Leads design and review sessions with technical and business members.
Works with IS team members to determine equipment, supply, and service requirements.
Ensures application development takes place and system is ready for end users.
Documents specific changes needed based on Network needs and follows up with the vendor/s for development delivery.
Defines and documents business requirements and processes.
Completes testing-out System Upgrades and New Modules (to identify issues) and does follow up until the application is ready for end user workflow.
Responsible for assisting end users with application related issues and workflow questions.
Troubleshoots application related issues.
Provides technical support and training on application related issues.
Troubleshoots potential and current problems on the network, with the application installation and/or upgrades.
Responsible for working with the training department to create the required training infrastructure.
Develops user support, in-house and individual training materials.
Under the supervision of the Director of Business Systems, is responsible for reviewing, developing, and implementing project proposals and plans.
Determines time frame, budget and procedures for accomplishing projects.
Establishes work plans and staffing for each phase of a project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project team members.
Coordinates activities of project team.
Provides status reports on the performance of various projects.
Serves as an advisor to staff and management personnel on projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Description of Primary Attributes Professional & Technical Knowledge:
Possesses specific advanced knowledge skills, including written and verbal communications skills, computational, computer and technical skills, and mathematical knowledge acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree program with a recognized major or a comparable level of business/industry acumen.
Performance of the duties and responsibilities of the job requires the equivalent of formal training in health informatics.
Experience with EPIC software preferred.
Technical Skills:
Ability to create highly complex documents in Microsoft Word, including linking multiple files and embedding objects linked to other documents.
Ability to use advanced functions of Microsoft Excel, such as to create and manage databases, including creating standardized reports, or link multiple worksheets and workbooks.
Ability to develop sophisticated presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint, including the use of embedded objects, transitions and other elements.

None required Communications Skills:
Job duties require the compilation and analysis of information prepared in effective written form, including correspondence, reports, articles or other documentation.
Duties require preparation and execution of presentations to large groups.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
