Summary:
This individual must be compassionate, dedicated, and driven, as well as knowledgeable and detail-oriented.
This role is multi-dimensional, as they are involved in both the clinical and administrative sides of the medical office; therefore, they must have clinical and laboratory skills, as well as interpersonal skills that allow them to work with other staff and patients.
Job Duties & Responsibilities - This position is responsible for the following duties and actions:
Patient In-Take Take vitals:
weight, height, temperature, etc.
Ask questions to obtain patient history in order to provide a thorough medical background for provider:
symptoms, medication, previous surgeries, immunizations, etc.
Identify patient needs by observing both verbal and non-verbal cues Record pertinent information in EMR Communicate clearly and directly to provider Promptly and efficiently perform all of the above tasks to keep appointment flow on-time Patient Out-Take Review medications and prescribed treatment plan with patient as directed by the provider Pull patient medical records/documentation Send information (documents, insurance records, cover letter) to medical provider Follow up with medical provider (Hospital, Practice, Doctor, etc.
) to confirm receipt of referral Request follow-up information from procedure, surgery, etc.
to insert into patient medical files Check medical records and charts 1-2 days prior to patient visit to verify that all authorizations and reports have been approved and/or received prior to visit Follow up with patient for next visit with Valley ENT Medical and Other Duties Properly sanitize medical equipment Prior authorizations - enter data into EMR (CoverMyMeds) to seek medication authorization Housekeeping and other duties to clean up office at the end of each day Answer phones, retrieve messages, and call back patients before the end of each day Job Skills Required - This person MUST possess the following interpersonal, clinical, and administrative skills in order to be successful in this position:
Interpersonal:
Communication - It is important to have strong communication skills when working with patients and providers; this means listening, paying attention to detailed concerns, instructions, and treatments.
It is also important to relay medical information clearly, concisely, and clearly.

Problem-Solving - Assist with diagnoses of patients with untreated ailments or providers struggling with medical equipment.
Teamwork - It is important to work as a team to find solutions to patient care.
There is also work to do at the end of each day, and everyone pitches in to assist.

Clinical:
Vital Signs - see above Injections - provide immunizations in office as directed by provider Patient Preparation - provide necessary treatments, bibs, etc.

Electronic Medical Records - properly document patient visits and navigate EMR system Multi-Tasking - individual must have the ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time, e.

Certified Medical Assistant - strongly preferred Bi-lingual - Spanish is strongly preferred BLS Certification AED Training Job Type:
