Service Technician I
Overview

This is a temp-to-hire position. During the temp-to-hire period, we will provide training and will be evaluating your skills to determine if a permanent position will be offered.
Responsibilities
Service and maintain leased and/or sold equipment at customer's site. This includes related activities of safety, communication, customer service, and housekeeping.
Complete or assist in completing internal and external records and reports and submit them to the Service coordinator or supervisor in a timely manner.
Assist other service technicians in installing, removing or making major mechanical changes on leased or sold machinery.
Have knowledge of customers' machinery and processes used in fruit processing, particularly that which is included in a service agreement.
Ability to communicate and transfer information to next shift and/or to supervisor.
Manage equipment overhaul so that performance will be to JBT and customer standards and completed within a timely schedule.
Qualifications
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work any shift, overtime, and weekends as required
High School Diploma or GED
Mechanical and Electrical experience
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Mechanical, electrical, and computer training
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
You must be physically capable of:
Working 10 hours per day, 6 days a week for 12 months at a time
Working around moving industrial machinery
Using hand tools
Occasionally lifting parts or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Occasionally stooping, crouching, and reaching
Walking and standing for entire shift
Receiving and conveying detailed instructions
Applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm and perceiving the texture of parts
Working around exposure to machinery noise, coolants and oils, and fumes from associated flammable aerosol products
Working around exposure from metal turnings, sharp metal edges, and moving machinery
Working in moderate to extreme heat
Handling moderate stress to complete work due to time constraints
Entering data in computer
Operating a forklift
